Pianista Privacy Policy

Pianista is a piano-learning app for iPad. We’ve designed it to be privacy-friendly by default: the app does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information.

What Pianista does not do

• No user accounts, sign-in, or registration
• No analytics, telemetry, advertising, or tracking SDKs
• No network requests other than Apple’s in-app-purchase service
• No data collection of any kind

What stays on your device

All content you import or create stays on your iPad:

• MusicXML, MXL, and MIDI files you import are stored in Pianista’s sandboxed Documents folder
• Your library index (titles, last-practiced timestamps, settings) is stored locally in Pianista’s Application Support folder
• Rendered score previews are cached locally and can be cleared by the system at any time
• MIDI input from a connected USB piano is processed in real time for note matching; it is never recorded or transmitted

If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your iPad, iOS may include Pianista’s local files in your encrypted iCloud Backup. That backup is handled entirely by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy — we have no access to it.

In-app purchases

Pianista offers an optional one-time in-app purchase (“Pianista Premium”) that removes the import limit. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We do not see your payment details, Apple ID, or billing address. Apple’s handling of this information is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.

Children

Pianista does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be noted in app release notes.
